Siamese Fighting Fish And Neons

Hi guys,

Jusy a quicky will a Siamese Fighting Fish be ok in a tank with neons danios i know they are ok with plecs but just wanted to check those other 2

The Neons might nip the SFghtrs fins, but my Rummy-Nose Tetras were fine- opinions will vary.

Any fish that resemble a Betta would probably be chased by him.

i had neons with my fighter before and they were fin nippers, so i'd say don't get the neons, I also had danios, but they were fine, it all depends on the individual fish, some fighters may not tolerate company, others love it!

Rule of thumb.

Mst fish will NOT be suitable with a SFF. Either the sff will be agressive, or the other fish will fin nip. Some pelcs are ok, as are some cories. But generally they are best kept without any other none bottom dweller fish. If youre gonna get a SFF, have him on his own.

harlequin rasboras are 100% safe, I've got some and they are known for being non agressive, as long as the fighter is happy with tankmates....my fighter lives with 6 harleys, 2 pygmy cories, and 2 pitbull plecos

I have 4 barbs, and every fish I introduce to my tank they show an unhealthy interest in, so am giving them to my LFS.

The personality of each betta is different, some tolerate company, some don't. If you try keeping your betta with tank mates, have a back up plan for where the other fish can go if the betta doesn't appreciate them.
