No, you should either get a bigger tank then add another or rehome them. Keeping them in a tank too small is cruel.

my mum will not let me take them back
 she says they are fine :shifty: :shifty:

OMG no not in that size tank, get a bigger tank and get 2 more OR rehome them and have a small community or something smaller.

Ok well show her a page in the internet where they need at least a 55G tank and they need to be in a group. She will understand.

ok problem with returning the fish ( mum will not let me  :X she say they are fine  )

i told her
& i think she is thinking about it now
coz i showed her the filament barbs
but she thinks they like not take them back ( we will see when we call them )

I take it she decided against taking them back.
suggest tha you show your mother all of these replys and all the other replys you got
in your previouse posts. all of which urge the imediate rehoming of these fish.

I will go on record that the shyness is the start of a long and unhealthy road for these poor fish.

oh right
i tryed to get her to let them go back
but she said no
& said we will rehome them when they get bigger
but now you has said that the-wolf that they are unhappy now i might be apply to take them back
i will just have to see
coz its been a bit of time so i donot know if pets at home will take them back or not :/  unless someone one here will take them

try in the buy sell swap section

Don't panic if you can't get rid of them right away. If they are small it will take them a couple years to get to a good size. Note I'm not saying they'll be fine for the rest of their lives....just saying its going to take some time before they get to where they outgrow a 50 gallon (UK) tank.

The reason they are so shy is most likely because you only have two of them and like already said they're a schooling fish. I wouldn't have less than 6 of this type.....so you begin to see the reason why there's no getting around the requirements for them needing a much larger tank than what you have them in.

Good luck finding them a home. :)

Feed them lots of greens for now - spirulina flakes, chopped spinach, peas - meaty foods will increase their growth rate.

oh right i have been feeding them flakes which they do not like really
what do i just put peas in the tank

yes i do not mind walting for a good home for them coz they look so sad & lost in the tank i think that is coz they are alonely ones in there
