Hi i'm really new to this (not even got water in my tank yet) but i want some advice on stocking my tank.
Its going to be a while because i want to do a fishless cycle first (read so much about it on here) but i would like to have a community tank in the end and i'm researching what i can have.

I would like to have a few shrimp to help with algae but i want to know whats the best kind and do you have to include them when you count up the inches for space like for the fish. Are they alright just crawling on the bottom or do they need to go up for air!

My tank is 36"x12"x15" which i believe is 20g uk

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

I guess Amano shrimp would be best (for algae eating) but it depends very much what your intended fish are. I had a profile on them in the Index, but that seems to be gone at the moment  - but you can do a google on Cardina Japonica and that will give you some more info :good:
