Shrimps And Copper

I want to get some cherry shrimp (my first shrimp) but my regular med in esha2000 and I've used it several times in the tank. Will it kill of my shrimp, even with water changes, and how can I get rid of the copper?

As long as you have been running carbon or us it before you add them they should be fine.
