I have a 29 gallon tank with these fish inhabiting it:
1 yoyo loach
2 corydoras catfish
1 clown pleco
1 betta
and 1 platy.
I plan on getting more yoyos, corys, and platys, but I would also like to get some shrimp. What types of shrimp would be compatible with those fish? I bought 10 cherry shrimp off of aquabid, and they slowly, I believe, got eaten. So what do you recamend?

Here are my opinions on the shrimp compatablity your fish, This is for dwarf shrimp like Cherrys.

1 yoyo loach - This is the only one i'm not sure about, from what i have been told no Loach is shrimp safe so i think this will be your problem. Just looked them up online - This bit makes me think they will eat the shrimp too: "This species is an avid consumer of snails."
2 corydoras catfish - Should be safe with adult shrimp
1 clown pleco - Should be safe with all shrimp
1 betta - Some are fine, some are not. Mine is ok with Anamo shrimp but kills ones that are smaller like cherry shrimp.
and 1 platy - Should be safe with adult shrimp

Shrimp that may be ok are Anamo shrimp (they are about twice the size of cherrys) or Larger Fan shrimp but with the loach i still think it would be a problem.

I recon the Botia (yoyo loach) is your shrimp killer. I wouldn't trust them with small fish let alone shrimp. They will eat just about anything and have the jaw strength to crush snails, so a shrimp wouldn't pose a problem.

Thanks for the advice! I think I will try the Amano shrimp. And if they don't work, I'll try the fan. And sadly if that still does not work, no shrimp at all. Thanks again for the help!
