Shrimp.....

That's the same as asking 'what are all the different types of fish?' -_- .

The answer is: nobody knows.

A list of most of the commercial available freshwater shrimp for aquariums can be found at petshrimp.com if that's what you meant.

You didn't really want someone to list all of those shrimp in one post did you? :p

Generally speaking, you can split them into four categories.

Dwarf shrimp, ghost shrimp, longarm shrimp and filter-feeding shrimp.

The shrimp that i always hear and see at stores outside the forums are ghost shrimp, amano shrimp, and cherry shrimp. You will find those a lot.

It's worth mentioning that kinds of dwarf shrimp are often labelled as "algae eating shrimp". They're also probably the easiest variety to keep...

Another good place to go for info is www.shrimpcrabsandcrayfish.co.uk -- some of their details are inaccurate, but they have pictures of a wide range of different shrimp.
