Shrimp?

we dont have any air pumps in our tanks and 3 of them have shrimp in....

they are all well filtered if thats what you mean by airpump...

I should think that as long as the tank is adequately filtered and there is enough surface agitation for the fish that are already in there you wouldn't need to supply any extra aeration.

I think that there are lots of people with planted tanks keep them becuase of how well they clean and they aim for as little surface distruption as possible
I would imagine the answer is no.
