I have just ordered another tank for shrimps,Its a small 54 litre tank 600mm long.
Its an Eheim MP Aquastar 60,It has an Eheim 2008 internal filter and i have ordered Dennerle Crystal black gravel.
I am going to put my Crystal reds into it,Maybe buy a center divider and put my Crystal blacks in there aswell and leave the cherries in the other tank.

Looking forward to having another tank(thats 4) and setting it up.

Will be looking for some more plants,Moss balls and Java Moss.

My LFS have told me that it will be here on Thursday.
Have ordered another Eheim Biopower 160.
Its working very well in the other tank. And will make keeping spares easy.
Have some floating plants and Java fern.
Brought some cheap Bogwood to use.
Will pick up some easy growing plants from my LFS when i pick the tank up.

Wrong tank ordered by my LFS.Sent a larger tank than i want, would have had it but i ordered a stand for it at the same time,Right stand, wrong tank.
They are going to get me a Eheim Biopower to go in it as a free upgrade,it has a EHEIM 2008 as standard.I have a biopower 160 on my other tank,Its a very good filter, and very adjustable. :hyper: £35 filter instead of a £16 filter.
Going to be next Thursday now.

I also keep CRS, and just have a pappy air pump driven sponge filter as I am worried about other filters sucking up shrimplets.

I looked at the Eheim Biopower 160 that you mention, but can't see what the inlet is like. I take it it is OK and doesn't suck shrimps up, as you breed shrimps don't you?

Hi,

The inlet is on the lower section of the filter, there are no slots underneath j.The next section up has Eheim substrat in it and is sealed. All flow comes from the lower section thst has a course foam in it,Just around the lower section.
All i do is stretch a piece of ladies tights over it,you can cut the tights into 6" sections and pull them over the lower part to cover the slots(sometimes needs an elastic band to keep it from dropping),as it clogs and the water flow drops just pull the tights up another 2" and full flow is returned,by doing this you also keep the algae and film growth that is on the tights.
I have baby CRS,CBS and cherrys at the moment,I have around 100+ shrimplets, ranging from a few mm to 20mm.
I have more problems with the older air driven filter than the Eheim,The air one is one of the really old ones with wool in it,The shrimplets like to graze on the wool, they then get to big to get back out the grills. Will be taking this out soon,it was just to get it running.

Comes with Course Foam pre filter,Substrat pro and then a fine foam,Also has with it A spray bar attachemnt(excellent for shrimps) and a standard nozzle and a Bubble nozzle.

Hope that helps

Also forgot to say,There is an adjuster on the top for flow,I did run it at the lowest setting in the 55 litre shrimp tank, and about 1/3 on in my 80 litre shrimp tank

Good deals on Ebay,thats where i got my 1st one,Very impressive,very quiet(1 is in our bedroom).Well made,easy to service
