Take a look at this please?

That's my Amano shrimp, one of my oldest , under her belly behind her front pairs of legs can you see the white area? I have had a close look and they appear to my eyes to be eggs. She has had those for a few weeks now ( I don't see her often so I didn't notice at first ) and does not seem to either want, or be able to let go of them. Is there anything I should do for her? Or should I just leave her to get on with it and hope they come out? I'm sure I read somewhere that they only breed in salt ...possibly brackish conditions? I can't remember. If that's true though, why does she have eggs? I have 5 Amanos in total and they are all in my 30 gal freshwater setup so I am rather puzzled. She is eating fine and moves happily around the bogwood they live on, but she can't actually swim far when she has to as she is rather weighed down with those eggs.

Any advice at all?

Amanos breed and hatch in freshwater, but the larvae drift down to the saltier waters.

I would just leave her. They'll hatch sooner or later(especially as you've said it has been a while) and the fish will snatch the babies up.

They look like eggs to me...

Unfortuntaley it is quite hard to raise the babies. They do need salt water when young and if you haven't already got a salt water tank its not that cheap to set one up to use for a few months. In the wild they live in freshwater streams as adults but the larvae get washed out to sea where they develop into adult shrimp before migrating inland again. This is why they carry eggs in fresh water but the young dont survive.

Mine carry eggs most of the time, they will hold them for 4 to 6 weeks and shed not long after they are born. They breed just after they shed so will probably be carrying eggs again straight away.

Ok so I just leave her be then yes? She seems to have had them a while so I was a bit worried . I wasn't sure if they could get eggbound or anything like that.
