Hi,
I am new to the whole fish keeping lark - but managed to not kill anything for the last 2 months!

I have a 60l tank with 3 mollies, 3 guppies and 6 cardinal tetra's.
My last plant purchase appears to have snail eggs and I didn't know about treating the plants first! So I am currently trying to cut the number down (Seem to be common pond snails from my beginners examination!).

If I want something else - should I get an Apple Snail, Assassin snail or some Shrimp?
I've read that Shrimp don't add much to the bio load so could I get a couple?
If so - what would be good for a beginner?

Many thanks.
Chris.

I added three Assassin snails to my tank that was becoming over run by snails two month ago, now no snails but the Assassin's are trying to breed I think.

It is called para-snailing.

I'd get Amano Shrimp if you wanted to get Shrimp. They grow much larger than Red Cherry Shrimp.

Assassin Snails are great, expecialy if you have pest snails you want rid of. These will clear them up in no time and not breed any where near as quick or as much as the pest snails would.
