Shrimp Or Frogs?

Was thinking of getting some shrimp or frogs or maybe both..
I thought that the frogs and shrimps might need an over water surface podium sort of thing in which my tank does not have. Is this the case?
What frogs or shrimps shall i get and a little info would be great
