Shrimp Lifespans

Hey all, just wondering what shrimp's, of all species, lifespans are. Some people say 6 months for a fan shrimp, others say a few years, so im wondering about any practical experience you have.

I've had my amano shrimps alive for over 2 years 7 months, all 4 are still going strong, and show no signs of old age. (I got 4 to start with: there have been no casualities.)

I think that's just a case of them not getting enough food since most tanks people keep these in don't have enough, I've heard that bamboo shrimp can live around 5 years, and that the giant african filter shrimp can live longer.
