What is the best way to landscape a small 5 gallon (UK) for shrimps. Is this tank ok for 6 or 8 shrimp?

you can have 10 shrimp to the gallon.. but they multiply so quickly i wouldn't recommend it.

what i would do
have white play sand as substrate
have spider aquarium wood (small) that is angled 45 degrees from one of the comers (adds depth)
make it a planted tank, have dwarf hair grass for front ground.. and it spreads nice, small breeds of sword like plants in the middle ground near the wood or beside and have tall grass for the background plant. but if you want to do planted you'll need all the requirements to make sure they thrive.

and when you have all that done i'd put in 5 red cherry shrimp and another 5 bee shrimp or yellow shrimp.

Thanks for your reply. I have purchased the light unit already I got an LED fitting. I have plenty of plants in my Tetra tank also moss that I thought I could use. As to species of shrimp I will be rather restricted as living in Cyprus and the aquarist is not catered for in my area. I have ordered common fish like Lemmon Tetras and they say they can't get them so the shrimp may be a bit hit and miss as to the type they may or may not be able to get. The cost of life stock is also silly prices so shrimp will be €€€€€. But I am determined to succeed with this adventure. Once again thanks for your help.
