What kind of shrimp are these? THe one on the right is male, the left is female, also i have anoher pregnate female with eggs. is it posible to have babys soon? if so how long will it take for eggs to hatch.

they are about 2 inches and pretty big. like a huge ghost shrimp. and he males have crawfish like claws. thanks alot

they look like Indian Prawns to me
Macrobrachium sp. max size 6cm temp range 22-25C

what ever it is; it is definatly a long armed shrimp
and will be predatory.

well they have been in a tank for 2 weeks with some goldfish... no problems yet, but they did eat my female guppy before i could switch them in tank.

any other ideas of species?

She's certainly egg laden - but if they will hatch and breed in freshwater is another question. And any hope of any survival (if freshwater) means you'll have to have a species set-up.
You'll probably have to do some research ;)

Ps: just in case I dind't make myself clear, some shrimp require brackish or full marine salt water for the first few weeks to grow and metamorphose (such as Caridina Japonica - Amano shrimp). But some shrimp "give birth" to mini versions of themselves.

im going to go look for some info, i have an empty 10 gallon, im going to plant it with hortwort and oher stem plants and i have a spounge filter for it. i want to try to breed these they are really cool.
