I won a 1.8 gallon nano tank at a recent fish club auction and was considering adding some nice cherry red shrimp to the tank. I have already planted an Anubias in the tank on a bit of driftwood but something swimming around would be nice. I keep mostly livebearers in relatively hard water and have simply never tried shrimp. I have kept ghost shrimp alive in my tanks for many months but that is not the same ting at all.
What I need to know is all of the basics. What temperature to keep them, the water type that they need to thrive and reproduce, what to feed them, etc.
The nano does have a filter that I can readily clone from any of my other tanks but I have not bothered yet because it is presently basically a terrarium with no ammonia source to maintain a clone.
