A few months back I bought 10 amano and 10 cherry shrimp.
I've seen females of both saddled and berried and I have lots more shrimp now, so there has been some breeding going on for sure.
Only the new shrimp look like a cross between the amano's and cherry's, now I know they can't be - can they?
The juvie shrimp are all clear/translucent with red markings - like the amano markings but red.
Could it be that my amano's aren't really japonica but the other shrimp (can't remember the name) that looks like an amano, but unlike the amano can breed in FW?
Or have I just got some very wierd looking cherry shrimp? The 10 original cherrys are really red, not clear with red dots/lines.

I would take a pic but between my poor pic taking skills and my pants camera there's little hope of more than a splodge!

baby cherries start off almost transparent with red markings and then get redder.

The males stay fairly translucent. You will be able to tell once they grow up by sheer size female amano's are twice the size of cherries and males 1.5 times.
