Shrimp Breeding Conditions

I am going to add a bunch of cherry shrimp to my tank.

I was reading the pinned thread about cherry shrimp being advanced breeders, and hence, easy to breed....but

1) Will they breed on their own in any conditions, or do i need a special set up?
2) what water conditions do they need
3) should i scoop them out when they are small, or will they protect themselves?
