I was moving my fish from 1 tank to another and my shovelnose got his fins caught in the net. I couldnt get him out so had to cut hole in net so fish could swim free but now he's got approx 1" square peace of net attatched to his fin.

He seems to be swimming fine with no probs but not sure how to get this off. I tried catching him again to have another go but he spiked me (drew blood) and decided to leave alone to cause less stress to the fish and myself.

Any ideas, will it just come off?

It might unhinge its self from it but it could also get caught on somthing in the tank and die from the stress. The best thing to do is grabe a glass vase to cat him in then drain most of the water and get that net off him before he gets stuck on somthing.

Ive checked the tank and dont think theres anything he can hook onto, also holes in net are tiny.

tried taking net off but i dont want to hurt him and it seems stuck fast, If his fins break would they repair themselves?

not sure what to do
