Should My Amano Shrimp Have Turned Blue ?

Hi,

Ever since i softened the water from 8 to 6, both of my shrimp have turned blue.

I have come across blue shrimp before but they are much smaller and a very solid blue. These seem to be tinted.

Does this always happen??

Mine started white with red dots, then went blue, then finally orange/red.

The redness maybe due to the food you feed them. Not sure about the blueness though. My amanos sometimes turn blue when I get a bit slack on water change so it might be stress related since shrimps are pretty sensitive to water conditions.
