The guy who is selling me his LR has offered me a TMC 1000 Reactor with pump for £50, he wanted £65 with pump but reduced to £50.
Is it worth getting it? Any questions I should ask about it? I haven't got plans to run anything yet but if I wanted to (most liekly phos reactor) it might be really helpful!

What do you reckon?

He is a great guy, said he probably has a few other bits I can have FOC he is also bringing some chaeto once all his fish have gone, he has 3 left to move on then the LR is mine! woop!

Well, its the right size for your tank, but........ have you decided on a plan of action re: reactors etc?

So for example, I used to run reactors for phosphate etc - but now use the Red Sea programme. Also, what are your plans for the tank, are you going to be having a lot of corals that use calcium (LPS/SPS), so needing a calcium reactor?

Well I haven't really thought about any of that. In the long run I want to end up with a decent amount of coral, starting with frags to grow them on. The one thing I have been contemplating is a phos reactor, at the moment it is 0 as he ran a phos reactor on his tank so nothing in there atm, worried that not having one will cause it to rise.

I was looking at the red sea program but until I have a decent amount of corals in there feel it would be a little bit of a waste of money tbh.

I don't know what corals I will be having though, just whatever takes my fancy (obviously after reccearch) but nothing atm that I have to have.

Can you help me in deciding what I should do?

Thanks Seffie!

if your going to use it then buy it! check what model pump it is first. dont buy it if its not a decent brand

He said it is a skimmer pump but hasn't said the make yet, waiting for a message back! Do you think it is worth getting in case I want to use it in the future? I don't know anything about reactors! :D

Its a very good reactor and as Ben said, as long as the pump is ok - it should be a good buy
