Should I Skim

Well hey all I havent been on in a couple of months and i missed the community. But, anyways i have a question I have a 29 us gallon tank and i wanted to know should I get a protien skimmer? if so which type would you suggest.

Your right on the cutoff point. Most recommend skimming for 30 usg and upward but given that it has also been stated that you can't over-skim I would fit one on that size of tank.

i have a skimmer thats rated for 90 uk gallons and upwards on a 24 gallon

Okay so if I do get a skimmer what would you reccomend

erm good usa ones are coralife, seaclone (not sure on that one) tunze and a few others

uk erm i think v2 skimmers are good (only coz i have one lol) i think we have some other makes. Sory im useless with remembering brands i usualy just rembmer logos and stuff

Can't comment as I don't skim but it would be worth asking in the hardware section for a recommended skimmer. There are a few more members posting as it covers all sizes of reef whereas it just tends to be the nano guys in here, many of which don't skim.

US, Coralife superskimmer or AquaC Remora

UK, TMC V2, or anything by deltec or aquamedic

I'll stand by the coralife superskimmer, it does a great job on my 25 gal, and isn't TOO expensive.
