Hi! I brought this female guppy about 2 weeks ago and I can't figure out what type of guppy this is. She has red gravid spot and I think she's pregnant. She was given to me as the pair of a white tuxedo guppy. Can anyone tell me what sort of guppy she is and how long it is before she gives birth?

If you want the fry to survive, then yes. When my guppies were the state of this, they gave birth to at least hundred fry. Probably not a white tuxedo guppy but I'm no expert at guppy variants. What matters is that she is heavily pregnant.

Thank you for reply! I haven't yet separated her but since yesterday I've been noticing that she's stopped bouncing around as she normally does, always hanging still at the surface of water.
When my Dumbo ear platinum gave birth last time, I saw her gravid spot had reached out to her anal fin, but this ones does not seem like that, also she has some black edges on her tail now and I don't know if it's only in my eyes but she looks a bit slimmer to me. Here's some picture of her:

Do you suggest I still separate her then? I mean, although I already have fifty fries around in my room I'd love to have more.

Oh I have another question. What do I do if some of my fishes get white spot and I don't have any hospital tank in hand right now to move them to? Can I use salt in a planted tank? Would it effect other fishes?

Probably if you want the fry to survive and if there are some left to give birth. Put her in a separate tank or breeder box because those are the best options. After she is done with her business, return her to the main tank. The fry will grow then. Feed tiny food like brine shrimp or crushed up flakes.

She's not a female white tuxedo guppy. The red in the finnage tells something else. She's more a red tuxedo guppy.

If some fish get whitespot, it is in the tank so there is little point of moving fish out. Salt does not cure whitespot but heat does. All you need to to is a big water change and vacuum the tank floor to remove as many stage #2 parasites as possible, then raise the water temperature to 30 deg C/86 deg F as measured by a thermometer (not the setting on the heater) and leave it there for 2 weeks or a week after the last spot disappears if that's later. Then turn the heater back down and let the temp fall slowly.
Heat for 2 weeks is better for the fish than whitespot medication, which is rough on fish.

Ok I know everybody says that fry must be removed, but I respectfully disagree. I leave all my guppy fry in the main tank and have a very low fatality rate (housed w/ DGs, bettas, etc.. the only thing id watch for is the feeding of the fry.

Thank you guys for reply. I've separated her now and she's really jumpy at this point. Thing is, I have this gut feeling that she won't give birth. I brought her from the store as boxy as she is now and it was 3 weeks ago! And if she does give birth, I'd admit I've been waiting like forever to see how her offsprings turn out to be.
And about leaving fry in main tank...well, mine is actually a community tank with Molly, swordtail, guppy and neons and I'm still trying to figure out which one of them is the monster that ate my Molly fry. I mean the Molly was half as bloated as a balloon, I didn't separate her. One morning I woke up and boom, she was a zero figure.
So I searched the tank and filter and came up with 8 little mollies among which, the 2 from filter lasted about 30 minutes. To tell the truth I expected at least 30 fries!
However, thank you again for being helpful!

Yeah, I should recommend that if your guppy is pregnant then you should have to remove her from the community tank and isolate her as soon as possible.

A pregnant guppy can be moved to a separate tank at any time during her pregnancy but not to one of those boxes as they stress the female. If another tank is not available the female should be left in the main tank to give birth and the fry caught and moved to the box.
