I was wondering which kind look best or r best. cause when i went to the store and they had a tall 30 gallon and a low 30 gallon. my dad says tall is better for showing the fish but would a low give me more ground room? thnx in advance for any answeres.

The low ones have more surface area and there for have more oxygen, having more depth and length than hight allows you to keep more fish, and it is easier for coral to grow in low tanks because the light don't have to travel as far.
High tanks are a lot more showy though.

if you want a natural looking reef, then I would go for something an least 18" front to back and ideally 18" high. and then however long you want. FrankSlapperinni is right that light wil be more intense at lower depths and that there is more oxygen in shallower tanks than thin deep ones. if you want a small tank, an 18" cube or a 24" cube would look nice :) but it should be your choice as shape and size is mainly personal taste.

My pinned article on tank size should help make things a little clearer

I would always go with the longer shallower tank. Preferably at least 36" long.

Get the shallower tank. There is more surface area, and you won't need as strong a light.

Also, if you got the deeper tank, it would be a lot harder to handle if you decided to clean it or scrub down the sides. :fish:
