Hi everyone! I have a twenty gallon tank with one betta and two cories. I am planning on getting some more cories later. Anyway, I was thinking about getting some Harlequin Rasboras, but I’m not sure how my betta will feel. I tried putting some female guppies in the tank, but my betta chased them around until I had to put them into the forty gallon. Looking back, my betta was probably intimidated because the guppies are bigger than her. (I think it’s a her)
Should I try the Rasboras? I could put them in the 40 gallon if it doesn’t work out. How many could fit in the tank. And is the tank big enough?
Thanks!

Not with the betta...

If you had a 20g long, you could have a good sized school. I have 8 in my 29g tank and they are pretty cool fish.

I’m not sure what a footprint is, but I’ll assume it’s the measurements. What qualifies as a long tank? The tank is 2 feet long, 1 foot wide, and 1 and a half feet tall.

If you are looking for a shoaling fish like the rasboras, maybe you could go with neon tetras?

it's best to keep the Betta in its own tank..I speak from experience as I had a Betta in with Harlequin Rasboras and the Betta would hide all day. i transferred my Betta into his own 5 gallon tank and he's been much happier and more lively.
