Should I get an otto for this?

Two of my tanks are in front of a window, which is great since I don't have good lighting plant wise for the tanks other than this, but now algae is growing like mad. The problem is it doesn't look green like the kind I see in other peoples tanks, so I wasn't sure if getting an otto would clear this up, as I don't know if they would eat this kind of algae. The guppies pick at it, but I'm ending up with huge blotches all over the sides of my tank!

Not an otto, but ottos. they are a gregarious fish and need to be kept in groups.

If the algae isn't green, what colour is it?

sort of a pale brownish color... it might turn greener when it thickens, I don't know my algae :dunno:
