Hi all,

I am still reluctant if to get a mushroom or another sessile invertebrate for my 15 gallons marine tank.

Presumably, I would need to upgrade my lighting which is only a 18 Watt fluoresent tube at the moment. How much light is the minimum?

As I don't have a skimmer, after feeding all the left over pieces flow around for half an hour or so until the tank is completely clear again, so this might be of use for some of those animals.

But is there a really an idiot-proof and easy-to-care-for, non-stinging and non-troublemaking animal that I could add as beginner to my tank, on the bottom or on top of the live rock?

I have heard so many different statements about the minimum requirements and the suitability of those animals, so I am asking this again.

mushroom, 18 watts is plenty, just keep it higher up (halfway) zoas, maybe try an lps like a frogspawn or something but keep that really high up. If the frogspawn works, you could probably do bubble, torch, anchor etc. But start with zoas and shrooms.
