I have been wanting to get a Bearded Dragon for ages. I'm just worried about something- Pro: You see, I work from my house, so I have the time to spend with my pets Con: And that is why I have a few more pets then average :)

I have

1 Golden Retriever puppy (lots of work, but my bot friend helps me with this alot)
2 Cats ( their pretty easy to look after, their out- door cats and never get in trouble, except for Kay, who gets stuck in trees, 'cause she has no tail- so her balence is not good)
1 Betta fish- (kenji is super easy to look after, not worried about him)
1 Finch- Now thats a little problem. You see, he sings like crazy, and do you think that will affect the BD? Also, my cats try and eat him, and my dog trys t lick him to death:)
2 Hamsters- Not really worried
1 Rabbit- Strider is pretty easy to look after
FISH- lots and lots of fish rtanks!

So, there all pretty easy to look after, except for Flame, my bird. But do you think this is just to much?
Am I kind of weird to have so many pets?

If you think you could manage it - then you probably can. But really, it's a personal decision. Do lots of research before you get it (if you do).

I mean, I'm putting away some of my tanks to get reptiles. I find leopard and crested geckos a lot easier to care for than fish (I mean, if you're breeding fish it gets kind of difficult and time consuming), so I decided to get a couple. I still have some tanks set up though. And I still have time on my hands.

As long as you can provide full care for everything and afford it why not? Do oyur research beforehand, best of luck/

You look like you are good with pets with that impressive list! :p

As for the Dragons, they are really good pets. I've never had the pleasure but when customers come in for live food they say they love them and are really easy to care for! They must be fed live food most of the time, like locusts, crickets. They are really funny with dead food, but i've found if you move the dead food around them it makes them think its alive.
Other than that they just need basic care, bathing, clean water, fresh veg, calcium.

Go out and get some books or just raid the net & get more info, but I think you should go for it if you want to!

My only concern would be the cat, my friends BD was killed by the cat. But only because he forgot to close the tank, you being a pet person would never forgot I feel.

And, no. You are not wierd for having all them pets, and a BD would make a great additon

James. :good:

Hey i have a bearded dragon they are great pets its pretty much part of the family now she falls asleep on us she charges about the house sits outside with us everything :D

as long as you can put up with the crickets cricketing then thats the only downfall!

feeding them dead food is not as good as live food and does not let them hunt so if you feed dead food you will get a lazy fat lizard :p

as for the cat thing you should decide if you think you cat will harm it or not i look after a stray cat de-flea it feed it and everything and she is usually in our house she kills birds and plays rough but i managed to teach her to leave lars alone now she just watches her run around :D same with my rats and hamster lol

We have a bearded dragon (still a baby) They aren't the hardest lizard to look after but they like live food better because it gives them exercise aswell and teaches them to hunt. Ours get's a mixed diet of black crickets, brown crickets and locusts. He/she likes the locusts best because not a single one survives but put crickets ion and they last a while... So if you can care for it properly and your not squeamish of live crickets i think you should be ok.
