is it to small for a clown fish ?????? I also know alot more equipment
Thanks

No it isnt too small but If you were going to put a clownfish or 2 in there I would suggest cleaning it out COMPLETLY, scrubbing every last corner and getting brand new filtration, heating etc. And I have read that using good quality live rock is the best method of filtration for a small tank. Also remember you will need proper marine lights.

It looks durty becuase i just clean it out and all the muck is still in the water and the filter is filtering it out + the light borke a few weeks ago

Interesting as I was thinking the same thing. For me, I already have couple of 36 inch strip lights, one of which is not being used. It holds two 30w bulbs and I already have an actinic bulb as well. If I get a 3ft by 1ft by 1ft tank (notice very low height), should 60w be ok for this setup? (Hmm, 22.4g tank - not sure if this exist).

In addition, I'd need:
- Filter: AC300
- Heater: Ebo Jager 150w
- Protein skimmer (do I really need this?)
- Chemicals to mimic marine water

And of course:
- Live rocks
- Sand
- Pair of young clowns

Am I missing anything?

How much did that stuff cost you ???, would the price be smaller for a smaller tank ???????

Personally, I don't find the cost to be much lower by going smaller since most of the equipment you need, you still need for smaller setup. So yes it will be cheaper but I always try the next level up to see how much the total cost goes up. If it is very little, then I usually go for the next level up...

if all the things to get the clown fish in there cost between 10-100 then i am happy to pay for it but over that i will have to think about i know the clownfish cost what about £10

I'd think it would exceed 100 pounds as I expect the setup to exceed 200 canadian dollars as well. It's not just the equipment - the live rock costs a fortune (hence I'm planning a small setup).

As you can see in my sig, I my next tank will be a 80g Lake Tang community tank. I expect 80g reef tank to cost at least 4 - 5 times more to setup so I'm not going there....

Around here, even the clown themselves cost about $40 each, so for sure it is going to exceed $200CA (which I'd guess is about $100UK P)

darn :( thats a bugger i know that fish the selves do cost round about 10 pounds here because i have read it on 2 or three websites + there is a breeding place for clown fish near where i live
