Sadly we lost a couple of guppies this week :rip: . I was treating them for fin rot but the medicine had no effect and they both died within a week of me noticing any symptoms. In retrospect, they both had very fine stringy poo so it was probably an internal problem.

Now, looking at the 4 remaining guppies, they've all had the same fine white stringy poo on and off for all the time that I've had them (6 weeks). In every other way they look fine though. Their colours are good, they're not off their food and they're swimming around fairly happily.

Should I be treating them and if so, what with? I'm in the UK, so I haven't got easy access to any powerful antibiotics. Is there anything off the shelf that I can give to them, or should I try changing their diet a little. I can't bear to lose any more :-(

Thanks

Kathryn

OK, so now I've looked at them and one of them has definitely got thinner :( He's still eating though which worries me more I suppose.

The other 3 have been fine (poo-wise!) but my little male guppy is thinner than usual and I've just notice him rubbing his lower body several times against the gravel on the bottom :(

I'm getting worried for him now and his poo is still pale and stringy. He's not fanning out his tail as much as he used to either so that makes him look even thinner. Almost like he's tensing his tail :S He's still playing with the others though.

Can anyone give me any idea what's wrong with him? It doesn't apear to be white spot or velvet.
