Hi folks,

I'm trying to make my tank look a bit tidier, the existing heater is about 11 inches long so has to sit diagonally on the glass. This is less than ideal since my Betta has a habit of playing in the flow from the filter and he gets blown into the heater. He's damaged his fins a couple of times and I think that's why.

So I'd like to find a heater that is 100 watts or there about (it's a 37.5 litre tank) since the room gets quite cold at night. I've tried looking at various suppliers sites, but most of the heaters I can get don't have lengths stated :(

So I'm asking you guys, can you reccomend any suitable heaters ?

Thanks,

Glod.

100w heater in a tank that small is a little overkill. You could use a 55w which is substantially smaller.

I've seen small heaters before, so you can get them, i'll have a quick look for you.

Edit - I've had a look around ebay, can't seem to find anything. What about an undergravel heater? You could just try to keep your room warmer at night, and buy a 25W one for £20(ish) off ebay.

Thanks for the comments guys/gals.

I agree 100w could be classed as overkill, but at the end of the day it only heats the water to a preset temperature. Barring the heater sticking on it shouldn't be a problem. 50-55w would probably do the job tho, won't know until I try. I just used the one that came with the tank :)

I'll check out the various links and see if I can find something that works for me.
