Feeling incredibly guilty about only having one albino cory (my metaes and trilineatas are in small groups - but my original three aren't - one peppered, one bronze and one albino, bought singularly when we didn't know better), so hubby picked up another 5 to keep him company - and hoping to see the shoaling together that they apparently do. No chance in my tank - one baby swimming around on his own, and two pairs - every time they go past each other, they swap partners. Original (big fat lazy) albino cory hasn't gone anywhere near them  He's far too busy sitting in his usual spot with his friend the peppered waiting for food to drop on him...

It's a good job it's a big tank. Maybe if I buy some more peppered, he'll shoal with them  On a plus note, Shrek (dont ask) the bronze cory seems to like them, I guess that's normal as they're the same species technically.

Ooooh I want more, but no-one sells concolors round here. Or rabauti. Heck, it's hard enough finding anything other than the norm (peppered, bronze and albino). I can order in some different types, but not the ones I want - and the price is pretty phenominal. £17.50 for one adolfoi  I can feel a Trimar order coming on, maybe in a few weeks (kids birthdays coming up and however much I'd like to think they'd want cories, I think they might be peed off if I got them instead of the Nintendos they want!)

I'll try and get piccies later.

Hi LisaLQ :)

Don't give up on getting a variety of different corys, just haunt all the lfs in your area. You never know what might come in. Sometimes they even get ones that are called one thing but turn out to be a C number or other unusual cory. I just got my C. concolor after looking for them for several years.

Even though your kids might want Nintendos for their birthday, I think they would prefer fish to other things you might give them........................like socks!

I wont give up, I will have concolors one day. It was sod's law that Trimar had some a couple of months back, but then at payday they were out of stock.

I'm pretty limited to where I can get my fish from, being disabled, I cant travel far, and we only have one LFS (although there is a pet stand on our market who also sell fish, they dont get many in).

I may have to look into more cories if/when I set up my plec tank, although I fear they'd be dwarfed by my rusty plec when he grows up ;) Then again I'd really like some loaches too (not clowns - already have those in our 6ft tank).

I got a few piccies of the baby albinos, my camera is useless though and they moved too fast to get any decent ones. I'll edit them and post them later anyway :)
