Hello all!!

I have a nice we collection of corys, 2 albino, 2 panda, 3 bronze and 2 sterbi. They just seem to kick about with their own kind though, is this normal? And if so, should I up the numbers of each kind so they all have a shole to swim with?

Dependant on size of your tank, the numbers could be upped, you probably won't see much shoaling behaviour with a few corys in a standard aquarium setting, instead they'll chill out and mingle with others...

Ah, cheers! Their in a 4ft tank, plenty plants and bog wood to kick about in. I'll maybe just get a few more of each and leave it at that for now (till I talk my better half into getting a bigger tank  )

your problem is having small numbers of different species. you should see a difference if you have at least 6 of the same type of cory. ive got 2 groups of 4, and even they all stick together. id rather have one group of 8 though.........

Cories are shoaling fihs - in the wild they will be in shoals of hundreds / thousands.
I used to keep Cories in a community tank and they would mingle with other fish but be fairly subdued.
I now have approx 25 Sterbai Cories on their own in the tank (with Cherry Shrimp) and they are 20 times happier and shoal properly. I would recommend this to anyone with Cories :)

Excellent! that settles it then... more of the same species. Cheers moochy13.

They all seem to be happy enough, swimming about quite the thing and eating and so on. Tank isnt big enough of hundreds though (how good would it be if it was though :hyper: )

But i'll defo up the numbers of the same species.

Cheers guys
