My cardinals were awesome!!! Always in a tight bunch!!!!

Red Belly Piranhas look really cool when they are shoaling but I never see them on any polls.

Probably no one even thinks of them as being schooling fish smb!!! LOL!
I know I didn't until you told me they were!!! ;)

Oh smb.. you're in my head. I was gonna say my best shoalers are silver dollars, the friendlier cousin of the piranhas.

I had 6 piranhas before, they are the most stressful fish I've ever owned, now I need clean, happy, small fish. Like this fellow here. :fish:

Why were they stressful to you?

Really? I thought everyone knew. Well, now you know! :D

I think that any of those fish will shoal well if there is a 5 inch GT and a 7 inch JD sitting in wait underneath them!!!!

tigers/green tigers always seem to like to hang in a gang specially on their am/pm tank patrol :) my neons only seem to shoal when im up to my ears fiddling in their home!!!

I'm totally with you on that one Millym. Tiger Barbs are big shoaling fish and the green ones are an awesome green colour.

In my limited experience of keeping fish i found that the neons i kept were quite boring fish and never really stuck together much.

How I understand it is that "schooling" means swimming together in a syncronized manner, like there was one brain moving a group of fish . "Shoaling" means the fish swim together, but not necessarily in a tight group like schooling fish, they just "hang out together". Like Guppies can shoal, but not school.
