Hi

I have a Rekord 70 with 3 platys, 2 swordtails, 2 black mollies & a clown loach. PH is 7.6 and nitrate at aroun 10 - 15 ppm

Would a small shoal of neon tetras ( 5 - 6) be suitable in this setup ?? I was thinking about some Danios but think the Tetras maybe a more interesting addition ?

Any problems likely with adding tetras - the other fish are pretty active ?

tank is nearly 12 months old

Tetras will work with those other fish, just watch out for overstocking. The addition of tetras will likely put you beyond what your filter can handle.

p.s. healthy clown loaches can reach a foot in length

Neon's will be good but they will eat fry from the livebeares.

And clown loaches are a socerial fish and need to live in groups of 4 fish to be happy.

Thanks - yeah I understand about the loaches - Tank is all male so fry not an issue. I accept the point on stocking I may look at alternatives
