i recently had an out break of slim/velvet parasite and many fish deid  the rest of the fish have fully recoverd and i even have baby platies but one my femails is not looking to good, she has white bits stuck to her, the black shark had the same but thats recovered. i dont really want to put more meds in the water as the med for the slive/velvet is still running its course.

i'd take her out and put her in a hospital tank and treat her there. is it ich? it looks like a realy bad case of ich

oh poor betta i think it has white spot yeah take her out and treat her pluss treat your tank aswell one as bad as that may have spred it

She`s not scratching her self and i dont think its white spot as the white bits look too thick. like i said there was an outbreak of slime and velvet but this looks different! I dont have another tank, so how long would she live in a non heated or filtered bowl?

have u got any anti bacterial meds? it may be summin my bettas caught once when i baught some new ones the guy at the shop said treat them with that can she move the part of her body that is overed in this stuff?

but it does look alot like white spot

i have got some white spot treatment but im unsure if its ok to add it to the tank as i treated the water for slime and velet a week ago! will it be ok to mix?

Jeeze she looks terrible. :(

Taking her out isn't going to do much good at this point. She's probably already contaminated the rest of your fish.

You can treat with several different meds at one time. So you should be ok adding the med's to treat this along with the velvet med's. You can take her out and treat her seperately..and she would be ok in a heaterless bowl, so long as it doesn't get below 74-76 degrees.

I think I would also give her 3 salt dips a day for the next week (if she makes it).

Put 4 Tablespoons of aquarium salt to 1 gallon of treated water (same temp as the tank..but not water from her tank..clean water).

Let her sit in the dip for 5 min (if she can handle it) the first time, 10 min the 2nd time, and 15 min the 3rd time.
