Last month I had the opportunity to jump into a shark cage in Hawaii. Hopefully this will not be a once-in-a-lifetime experience!!! I was surrounded by about a dozen Galapagos sharks, they were absolutely beautiful.

Here's a few pics... the first two were taken from inside the boat, the sharks swam right up when they heard the motor. One of the crewmen dunked fish on a rope in the water, and the sharks enjoyed a tasty treat!!

Well, I've never swam with dolphins, so I think we're even. :p

It was an incredible experience, and something I hope to do again. Unfortunately the waters out here on Long Island are not very clear, so the only way to see sharks out here is to go way out and scuba dive. I'm not scuba certified, so I would have to find a place that did snorkel cage dives.

We plan on going back to Hawaii in a few years, I'm already making plans to book another shark excursion... and my son will be going with me... he saw the pics and wants to do it too!!! :good:

I would love to dive with Great Whites... just have to find a place that does that... :shifty:

No... I really wanted to... when I was in the cage I thought about it, but I know their skin is very rough and I was wondering if I would get cut. Didn't think it would be a good idea to start bleeding in the water surrounded by sharks!!

So I didn't reach out and touch one, but I wish I had. Next time I will be bolder... I may even bring waterproof gloves just for the occasion... ;)

Oooohh i would LOVE to do that! Im getting my diving license at the end of this year and then i will be able to :D
