USA,
My brother has a bala shark, and I was wondering if he should replace it w/a redtail black shark or some other small shark.
He has a 15 gallons
1 blue Gourami
2 Tetras
1 pleco
1 goldfish, i know your not supposed to have goldfish w/tropical fish, but he does regular waterchanges and stuff to keep the ammonia and stuff down, and its all were it should be. And the fish is the healthiest one he has,a nd he does hav a place to send him when he gets to big.

i think thats it, oh, and he wants to get a guppy.

Goldfish are coldwater fish, if they are kept in warm water their metabolizm will work much faster. This means the lifespan of the fish will be reduced by a large amount.

Doggfather has pointed out and important point.

He should certainly remove the Bala Shark and re-home it but I would not get another Shark as the tank is to small. Maybe try another fish. :)
