Shark Encounter In Egypt

Hi, just thought I would share this. I think it's pretty cool. This was on a snorkeling trip I was on, and this guy just turned up. Pretty sure hes a Grey Reef Shark (supposedly in the top10 most dangerous). Hope you enjoy, just ignore the first 20secs or so. He was about 8ft+, although doesn't look it on the Vid.

It's amazing just how elegant it looks towards the end.

Curiosity got the better of me....the vid works and it`s pretty cool seeing that shark but I shouldn`t really have watched it!!

I grew up in the 'Jaws' years and have always felt very dubious about swimming but when we went to Sharm I braved it and went snorkelling.....I loved it but will now be a bit more on my guard if we`re lucky enough to go back again next year!!

Ha thanks. It was amazing, funnily just the day before I was saying I wanted to go free swimming with sharks and people said it was just talk. I had just got out the water onto the boat when someone said this was there, I quickly put my snorkel gear back on and grabbed the camera and dived in. Took me a while to find him, and when I did at first, realised I was a fair way away from the boat with no one else really close lol.

No doubt it, below me was a Grouper probably around 2ft. It was circling me or that, my guess is the Grouper A massive Napoleon turned up too, must have been well over 3ft but for some reason I just didn't bother filming it. Maybe that was its meal. If you watch it though, it is certainly circling something, my guess one of these poor fish became dinner

Definately a black tip, or white tip reef shark.

Seems very calm, you're quite lucky it wasn't schooling. Nice encounter!!

Oh wow excellent, one of my dreams before i die, id probally swim away like a sissy,hehe...but also from jaws time, swam with a basking shark when i was 15, that was awesome
