Male from female. I couldn't fit it all in.

But yeah, the shape of the body and the white dot....Are those the only two ways to tell if a betta is a girl?

1. I can hardly tell from shame...I don't see much difference.
2. I don't see a white dot....

Well, my boyfriend just got a nice betta pair, crown mail, and a pretty blue gal.

But before we left, the persons like 'uhhh....Thats a male'. o_0

They said it was a 'roundtail' male. It had short fins and whatnot.

I seriously don't believe it's a male, but is there any /other/ way to tell?

You really can't miss an oviposter if there is one.

Sometimes though..my girls hold their ventrals close to theri bodies..and you can't see it. The ventrals HAVE to be relaxed and in a vertical position to see the oviposter.

These aren't the best pics..as my fish refuse to be still when I come close enough and try to look under them..they all want to come stare at me face to face lol..but you can get the basic idea.

Would have been great..IF that water spot hadn't been there

Doesn't that thing only stick out when they have eggs? This gal isn't near having eggs...Very very small and skinny...But long. o_0
