Ok, three-fingers will be giving me some babby shrimp tomorrow. I would really like for them not to die from copper poisoning in my heavily planted nano. How can i check there is none? Also, what are things i should deffo know about shrimp for someone who has never had any before?

You can use marine copper testing kits...But it might be a bit pricey for a one off test!
Check your fertiliser to see if it contains copper.
Also if you have bought any plants recently i might consider changing some water just in case they were treated with a snail killer :)

Only important thing i can think of is, if you have pretty much any fish with mouths big enough, they will eat your shrimp.

Just to be on the safe side..i wouldn't say it was essential (although it would be if it turned out your plants were treated with a snail killer :D)

Well, i just did a water change, and noticed on back of water condit bottle that it removes copper...sooo Lets just hope the betta doesnt eat them!!

When i tired cherrys with old betta he didn't even eat them, he just killed them and left two halfs of the corpse for me to find. He was fine with the Amano shrimp i kept with him though.
