Sexing Tetras

Is there any way to tell what sex colombian & black widow tetras are. I have 4 of each, not planning to breed, but I am interested in how many males & how many females I have.

Hi

I know that the Black Widow females are a little larger and rounder than males. Also Widow males may show white spots on their tail fins.

hi, i've got black widows and am also trying to find out. What the last post said is correct to what I have read, and I also read the the females anal fin is parallel to the vertical stripe on their adomen. HTH. Some of mine are definately a lot plumber, same with tiger barbs, so would be definate way to tell.

Excellent, thanx I do have 1 that looks particularly round, hope there are others or else 1 female might be harrassed a bit when they grow up a bit hey......Any ideas on colombians? Same deal or is there an easier way to tell?
