just wanting to know if there is an easy way to sex tetras???

There is no one single way that works for all, hey, that would be to easy.

Generally, (and there are exceptions), females grow larger then males, are less colourful and are noticeably deeper in the body when viewed from the side or wider when viewed from above.

If you have a particular species in mind, say what it is. There are sometimes more obvious differences.

i was wanting to know what sex my black phantom tetras are

Okay, well all of the above apply. Additionally, the males have longer fins and will be the ones fluttering about spreading their fins in front of the duller plumper ones! They readily show courtship behaviour in clean water.
