Is there a way i can sex my sailfin? He/she is 6"???

well it's got another 18+ inches to get then, and sail fins are almost impossible to breed in the hobby, i think it's never been documented if they have been.

You need to know what you are looking at to sex L083, L165 sailfins, which is the genital papillia, the fish also need to be mature. The male has a small but thick stump which you will see sticking out from the underside of the body, the female is less noticable and is either recessed or is flat to the body.
As for breeding them you would need a very large tank as they tunnel into the river bank to lay and hatch the eggs, so that could be why there are no reports of anybody breeding them in thier tank.
