I've had my baby BN for over 3 months now, and it has over doubled in size. It is around 2inches long. When can you sex baby BNs? Am i right in assuming that as it doesnt have any bristles, then in must be a female?

some males are late devolpers but yes generally if it has no bristles it is a female some females later on get a furry lip of bristles but at 2 inches thats the start mark for sexing give it a month and you be able to tell straight away

cheers dane

they usually take 6-12 months to mature i find and befor that they are impossible as even females have small bristels.

And i found that even with a pair the male will not mature engough to full breeding till around 2 years old.

dam he's an early starter!!!!

See just go's to show that fish don't read book's or the internet!!
