We'd need more detail... but yes its relatively easy for most plecs.

depending on species, males are hairier, females are fatter.

What plec do you want to know about and we'll be able to be more specific.

Can I ask what size tank you've got them in ?!?

and do you realise that they will both reach over 12" in length, and probably closer to 18"........
