I think this is the right section for this thread, sorry if it isnt.

Im thinking of adding a Sewllia lineolata to my Aegla tank, as the algae is starting to grow quite quickly now, the water is very well oxygenated, and also with a fairly strong current, as this is needed for the Aegla, the ph is currently (and usually at) 7.2, the temperature around 20c or so, a concern would possibly be it attacking or actually eating the Aegla, would this be possible? or are they strictly algae/pellets eaters?

Parameters are more or less ok, except that Sewellia needs slightly higher temp, 23C-25C will be better.

IME they are not all that much into algae, here they prefer prepared food (including frozen bloodworms occasionally) and ignore algae on the glass. Gastros are better algae-cleaners, especially if the algae is brown, they are addicted to it.

I wont get any Sewellia for that tank then, as the higher temperature is no good for the Aegla.

Would Gastromyzon be ok at around 20c? and would the Aegla (small/medium Crab-like Crustaceans) be ok with them?

See the profiles:

Sewellia: http://www.loaches.com/species-index/sewellia-lineolata
A typical Gastro species: http://www.loaches.com/species-index/gastr...n-ctenocephalus

Notice that both profiles list the temp range 68F-75F. However, reported Sewellia spawnings occurred at 78F-80F, so this is likely what they prefer. On the low range, probably 65F is the healthy limit for either one (20C=68F). Aeration and current are more important. I keep both at about 72F-75F during most of the year, summer months 80F-82F.

Also, what kind of algae? Brown they do spectacular with (I actually got eight more *small* Gastros on Sat, put them in a 10g qtank full of diadems, and the tank was clean by Sunday morning). GSA they will clean some. Hair/Brush -- no way.

As for Aegla, sorry, I have no idea what that is. They certainly will eat Copepods (very small Crustaceans). Anything that is 5mm long (probably 3mm too) should be safe, they are not hunters.

Their favorite food, incidentally, is frozen shrimp...
