My four inch Severum is laying eggs on a rock. She is in a 55 gallon with three firemouths that are just a little smaller. Could she crossbreed with the firemouths or is she just laying unfertalized eggs?

I dont know about cross-breeding, sounds like a complete longshot, if not impossible idk. But, my female severum lays eggs all over the place and there is no male in sight. She even protects them like they are fertilized. I bet your fish is just having a fish period.
