Hi All,

Just a bit of an update... We still have diatoms in the tank, it doesn't seem to be getting worse but it's still there. Roughly how long do you think it will take to clear?

Yesterday, I picked up a couple of shrimp (amoto/algae eaters) and they seem to be loving jumping infront of the filter and being thrown to the other side of the tank, they act as though they have little personalities, they're great! Anyway, do you think these will help remove the algae? (Silly question actually wasn't it?!).

I have given them one algae wafer which has been in there since yesterday, but the Danio's seem more interested in it than the shrimp!

I also woke up to find a dead fish :-( Our first fatality! It was caught in the plants so I can only assume it get caught there as he was wedged in pretty bad.

One of our shrimp is also carrying a lot of eggs underneath her, should I be making any special arrangements for her etc?

Sorry for the rather long winder and ill-structure post, just several things to discuss at once :)

Any advice to the above would be appreciated :)

Thanks,

Amano shrimp rarely breed in the aquarium as they need brackish water to do it.

They will eat algea but not in any noticable amounts.

The diatoms will clear in a week or so.
