Setying Up An Aquarium

I have many aquariums, and now i'm short of space. I was thinking about putting 1 in the garage or the loft, but I was wondering if the fish would be okay if the light was shut off all the time.

The fish will be just fine. Most fish prefer subdued lighting anyway. The only problem you will have is if you have live plants. They do require light and will die if they do not get the light they require. If you have no live plants, lights are really just for aesthetic pleasure. Hope this helps you.

I am assuming we are talking freshwater here, marine is a different story entirely.
