This is just my loose planning idea for a tank I'd like to set up. Full reef, 100 to 150 gallons and probably over the period of 3 years or more. I did a similar list some time last year and have since made some slight revisions.

To make it easier, I've made a screen capture of the list. As far as I can gather, these are all reef safe animals and I didn't find any compatibility issues looking through profiles so it's down more to, will they all fit? :D If there are any compatibility issues, let me know. Oh, forgot to add, I haven't looked through anemones or some of the other common reef animals yet so any suggestions there would be great too.

Looks good so far, the only things I could think of were:
Longnose hawkfish might get a bit predatory with the shrimp,
If you're going to keep two manderins they're going to need to be a male and a female,
A fair amount of your fish are fairly inactive so maybe look to add a schoal of something or one more active fish.

i'd say watch the longnose as well, especialy if you are plannding on adding the gobies on the small side, a small shoal of chromis always look good.

Just my pennies worth(i;m not trying to push my tastes onto others but), why dont you consider a royal dottyback, gotta be one of the most awsome fish, mine is a real personality, just dont add more than one dottyback, cos' that not a good thing :-(

long spine urchins can cause havoc in a reef tank when they get big.

I would stay well clear of anemones for the moment, as they are notoriously difficult to keep long term.

I agree, the majority of the fish you have occupy a similar niche, so you may want to cut back on some of these, and consider a few nice colourful active fish.

In a tank that big, there is quite a lot of choice of reef safe fish.

I've got a huge list of fish and I'm kind of cycling through them. You should see the number of gobies I dropped. :p Kind of partial to them obviously. I do want some fairly active fish. I've heard Green Mandarins are active so I definitely want to get them. They look so good. I do want to try to keep mated pairs of everything that would otherwise fight if I kept more than one of them in there too.

Also, I've barely even scratched the surface for Dottybacks, Angels, and whatever else there are. I had started to last year but then I got sidetracked and never quite finished. I'm going off the list I started with and will probably revise it another four or five times before I'm satisfied. By the time I'm done, I plan to get as widely a diverse tank as I can without everything preying on everything else.

I am thinking of Flame Angels and Midnight Angels but I don't know if they would fight with the Clowns or other animals. The anemones are going to be one of the last animals I put in there seeing as they are quite hard to keep, along with that seastar.

Oh, and how much liverock and live sand should there be? I'm always hearing conflicting answers to this ranging from 2-5 pounds of live rock but not much on sand.

Thanks for the tips. :)
